August 26th - 29th, 2021
This 03 nights, 04 days photographic experience will include locations that are off the grid of the main tourist trail. This photography tour has been designed to capture the real essence of Rajasthan which are its villages, shepherd communities and age-old traditions. It will be a rare opportunity to further develop a sense of photographic style and the art of storytelling. The main focus will be on people photography, especially portraits.

Detailed Itinerary
Thursday, 26th August: New Delhi - Jojawar (Via Udaipur Airport)
This morning take a flight to Udaipur. Meet the trip leaders and group at Udaipur airport from where we will start our 2.5-hour drive to Jojawar, a small village where will spend the next two days.
Jojowar is an untouched, seldom-visited town near Udaipur in Rajasthan. The countryside around Jojowar boasts rocky hills and scrub forests as well as the picturesque Aravalli Hills in the east. The sheep and goat herding Rabari people populate this area.
Later in the evening, we will head out to a small village (which is also called a Dhani). We will spend time photographing the evening activities in the village. This is also the time to photograph as the shepherds bring back the sheep and goats at this time after a long day of grazing - the entire scene is beautiful and is a great opportunity for good photos.
After sunset, we will head back to our hotel.
Our heritage hotel has a large courtyard where we can relax with a fresh lime soda or a drink and download photographs. We will also offer photo critique sessions during this time. Dinner will be in the main dining room.

Friday, 27th August: In Jojawar
This morning we will head out early to another village. We will shoot the shepherds preparing the first cup of tea, milking their cows and goats and hauling water from the nearby handpumps. In this quaint village, we will photograph the friendly Rebari women in their brightly coloured ethnic clothes and villages. We will also photograph the men smoking pipe.
This afternoon, we will head back to the hotel for lunch. Post that, we will cover the basics of photography and workflow along with tips on post-production, editing on lightroom, and storage. We will conduct a mini-session for all kinds of Photography needs and advice.
Around 4 pm, when the light of the afternoon softens from the harshness of the midday sun, we will head out again. This evening we will spend most of the time with one Rabari family to understand their sustainable ways of living, recycling habits and zero carbon footprint lifestyle and how they maintain it.
If interested, one can try their simple, earthy, and fresh meal: Chule ki roti and dal.
After sunset we will return to the hotel -- dinner will be at the hotel. Post-dinner we will also conduct a small critique session of the images that have been shot till now.

Saturday, 28th August: In Jojawar
This morning (depending upon the operational availability) we will take a one-hour local train ride on a metre gauge line and mingle with the local commuters. From the high hills of the Aravalis – the Kambli Ghat to Phulad, this train ride is beautiful and unique.
We will return to the hotel by lunchtime. Afternoon we will head out to Anji Ki Dhani, another beautiful village. Portrait sessions will be arranged along with many other photo-ops!
This evening we will also conduct a critique session of your images before or after our farewell dinner.
Sunday, 29th August: Drive back to Udaipur to take the flight back to Delhi
After breakfast, we will drive back to Udaipur airport and fly back to Delhi.
INCLUSIONS:
Ø Accommodation based on twin sharing rooms for 03 nights.
Ø All meals starting from dinner on the 26th till the breakfast of 29th August.
Ø Transport: We will be using Tempo Travellers throughout the trip; pick-up and drop at Udaipur Airport from Jojawar is included.
Ø Train ride in Jojawar (depending on the operational availability).
Ø All currently applicable taxes.

CANCELLATION POLICY:
Ø 10% of the trip cost will be charged if cancelled before ten days of the Trip date
Ø 20% of the trip cost will be charged if cancelled under ten days of the Trip date

Our Hotel: Rawla Jojawar
Set amidst the Aravalli hills, this little garrison fort was once a major principality of the Royal house of Marwar. Bestowed with the title of Rao, the nobles looked after this little fiefdom for about two centuries after its construction in the 18th century.
Known by the name of Rawla Jojawar the fort is now converted into a heritage hotel. The two young sons of the present Rao and Rani Sahiba Maharaj Singh Ji, Nagendra and Amitvikram Singh respectively, are currently looking after the hotel in the Rawla, recently restored into its old-world splendour.
